About us
Hope for the Future is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of at-risk youth and young adults ages 16-24 across Tennessee & Mississippi. Since 2017, we have been breaking cycles of poverty, interrupted education, and instability by providing comprehensive support services and workforce development opportunities that create pathways to success.
We serve young people whose education has been interrupted through truancy, suspension, expulsion, or life circumstances—youth who need more than just a second chance, but the comprehensive support to make that chance count. Through our integrated approach combining mental health counseling, behavioral support, substance abuse prevention, domestic violence services, and career development training, we address both immediate barriers and long-term goals. Every participant receives an Individualized Goal Plan (IGP) developed with dedicated staff who provide accountability, encouragement, and guidance throughout their journey.
Our mission goes beyond keeping young people in school—we prepare them for sustainable careers, economic stability, and lives free from the cycles that held them back. Whether a participant needs mental health support, anger management, industry certifications like OSHA 10 or forklift training, job readiness skills, or all of the above, Hope for the Future provides comprehensive services. We believe every young person deserves not just a second chance, but the tools, support, and opportunities to build a future filled with hope and possibility.
Our Team
Hope for the Future is led by Executive Director Robbie Wallace, who brings expertise in nonprofit leadership, federal grant compliance, workforce development, and youth services. Our dedicated team combines professional credentials with genuine passion for seeing young people succeed. We understand that behind every behavioral challenge, every interrupted education, every barrier to employment is a young person with potential—and we’re committed to helping that potential flourish.
Our staff includes counselors, workforce development specialists, and support personnel who provide individualized attention to each participant. We don’t just process youth through programs; we walk alongside them, celebrate their victories, help them overcome setbacks, and refuse to give up on their futures. We’re here to show young people that someone cares, someone believes in them, and someone will fight for their success—regardless of their past or current circumstances.
We partner with employers, schools, community organizations, mental health providers, and other service agencies across Tennessee & Mississippi area to ensure participants have access to every resource needed for success. Our collaborative approach creates a network of support that extends far beyond our walls.
Our History
Over the years, our mission has expanded to address the full spectrum of challenges facing at-risk young adults. While we continue to serve youth impacted by school discipline issues, we now provide comprehensive support services including mental health counseling, anger management and conflict resolution, substance abuse prevention and recovery, domestic violence prevention and support, and extensive workforce development programming. We’ve grown from a vision of providing safe space to creating sustainable pathways from crisis to careers. Today, Hope for the Future operates in Tennessee & Mississippi under the leadership of Executive Director Robbie Wallace. We provide industry-recognized certifications (OSHA 10-Hour safety training, forklift operator certification, supply chain management), comprehensive job readiness training, and wraparound support services. What began as one woman’s God-given vision has grown into a comprehensive program serving hundreds of young people and families, but our heart remains the same: to show love, provide hope, and create opportunity for those who need it most.
